Theresa, give me buzzfest tickets!!!

Okay, so since I've been broke (single mom, no child support, putting myself through college, blah blah blah) pretty much most of my lifetime, I haven't had any extra money to do anything fun for myself. I'm talking, no eating out, not even the dollar menu at McDonald's, no movies, no fun trips to the zoo or the museums with my daughter, not even driving anywhere unless it's dire necessary, etc. So, I've been trying to win buzzfest tickets since they announced the band line-up last Monday. Now, I've never gone to buzzfest before, but I've always wanted to. And this year, oh my god, the lineup is incredible!! Several of my favorite bands will be there, and I sooooo want to go!! I've been listening to the Buzz on iHeartRadio at work every day, listening to it in the car on the way to work, on the way home from work, on the way to school, on the way home from school, you get the point. ALL THE FREAKING TIME!! I have their number on speed dial both on my cell phone and at work. EVERY time they give away tickets, I either get nothing but a busy signal or it finally rings and then disconnects. :( I live a very frugal life, I don't do anything that costs money, and I know how to have fun having picnics and going for bike rides with my daughter for free, but this would be so epic if I could go to Buzzfest!!! So today, I posted on Theresa's facebook wall, asking her for buzzfest tickets. In return, I will make her the most beautiful handmade personalized scarf she has EVER WORN!!! Up to three colors, I'll even make it checkered (those go for about $200) if she chooses!! So PLEASE, Theresa, give me Buzzfest tickets and let me make you a wonderful scarf!!!! Please!! ^_^

SCARF FOR PTA!! :D

I am currently working on a scarf I'm donating for the Pecan Grove Elementary school's Fall Auction! I'm really excited about this one! It's going to be red and black Alpaca, just like my "Alfie" scarf, except without the verticle lines. It is going to be blocks of alternating colors, similar to most of my Sugar Scarves. So far it looks awesome! And I hope the PTA can raise plenty of money from it, and I hope it goes to a great home!! :D Pictures to come when I finish it!

Fingerless Gloves!?

I was walking around the store the other day when I saw a skein of HOT PINK yarn!! I thought to myself, "You MUST make something awesome out of this!" And so I did! :P  Instead of knitting this time, I decided to crochet, and created some fingerless gloves in hot hot pink! :)  I may be a bit of a punk, but I'm still a girl, and love hot pink! I am working on the second one, and then after that I am going on the search for some deep green yarn to make a pair for my sister who already wants some! I'll post pictures soon, but for now just think about leg warmers for your writsts and forearms, leaving your fingers free.. :P  I'm sure they'll be great for working in the winter, when regular gloves just get in the way! :D

New Scarf!!

A while back, I asked a friend on fb about designing a logo for the Lucky 13 line of scarves, and she did and it's awesome!! (See Lucky 13 scarves on the right!) Well, instead of payment, we agreed to barter!! It was super fun, and I just finished her scarf!! I shall call it the McGraw scarf!! : D It's blue and red, suuuuper long, and with super long fringe in opposing colors on each end! It looks so awesome! I can't wait to send it to her! ^_^

Candles!!

CANDLES!! And more knit scarves!!

First, I would like to profusely apologize to all my loyal fans and customers for not posting for a while!! It's been a busy time of year with the cold fronts coming through on a nearly-regular basis!! :D

On the new front, I have started making, yes, candles!! I've made some large octagons, votives, tea lights, and what I like to call "Tea Light Double Shots". They're between the sizes of tea lights and votives, and fit in votive holders and most tea light holders. They can be bought separately as well as with holders, I'll update with more information on the next craft show I do if you want to come by and buy!! ^_^
As far as scarves go, as I said it was busy because of the cold fronts, but most were made as gifts for friends and family. I have a tentative order for the Taylor High School cheer squad, so hopefully that will work out and I will be able to make matching scarves in school colors for the cheer team! That will be really exciting if it comes through!
